The Kansas City Chiefs did not look like themselves on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Yeah, Travis Kelce might have scored a record-setting touchdown. And yeah, mega pop star Taylor Swift might have been in attendance to support her partner, but there was nothing else familiar about this Chiefs team, which struggled to gain much traction all afternoon.

It all came to a head with the upstart Broncos on the verge of a monumental upset of their biggest division rival in the AFC West.

All kicker Wil Lutz had to do was make a simple 35-yard chip-shot field goal in the final moments -- an absolute layup for a professional in almost every conceivable circumstance.

So, after all of their unbelievable luck thus far, of course, the Chiefs blocked it. Their devil magic never fails. Let announcer Kevin Harlan tell the story:

The Chiefs' "issues" will continue all the way to the first 20-0 undefeated season in NFL history and the first-ever modern three-peat.

Look deep into your heart. You know it to be true.
