Chiefs’ Nick Bolton made big play vs. Falcons. Another LB saved the game before that

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton received well-deserved praise after he made the game-clinching tackle in KC’s 22-17 road win over the Atlanta Falcons.

That wouldn’t have happened, however, without another linebacker making a standout play on the previous snap.

In this video, KC Star reporter Jesse Newell and Brett Taveau (author of the Chiefs book “Unpacking Greatness” and a longtime high school offensive coordinator) take a closer look at three of the Chiefs’ defensive stops in the fourth quarter.

As one might expect, Bolton had plenty of help late from teammates (like Leo Chenal, Chris Jones, Bryan Cook and Jaylen Watson).

The most significant assist, however, was from fellow linebacker Drue Tranquill, who turned an 89-pound disadvantage in his own favor.
