History repeated itself in the Kansas City Chiefs' AFC championship game against the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs beat the Bills in the postseason for the fourth consecutive time, sending Josh Allen and Buffalo back to the drawing board and bringing Kansas City to the Super Bowl once again.
The Chiefs are set to meet a familiar foe in Super Bowl 59. The Philadelphia Eagles earned the right to represent the NFC in the Big Game thanks to their 55-23 NFC championship game win over the Washington Commanders.
That sets up a Super Bowl 57 rematch between the two teams. Philadelphia will look to avenge its most recent loss against Kansas City. Meanwhile, the Chiefs will look to add to their legacy and continue establishing themselves as one of the great NFL dynasties.

Yes, the Chiefs have been to the Super Bowl many times in their franchise's history. They will be making their seventh appearance in the Big Game in Super Bowl 59. That's good for the sixth-most in NFL history, behind only the New England Patriots (11), Dallas Cowboys (8), Denver Broncos (8), Pittsburgh Steelers (8) and San Francisco 49ers (8).

The Chiefs have a 4-2 record in their six Super Bowl appearances. That includes a 3-1 record in the Big Game dating back to Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid's first Super Bowl together in 2020 (Super Bowl 54).
The Chiefs played in the American Football League (AFL) before the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. As such, Kansas City's only NFL championships have come during the Super Bowl era.

The Chiefs appeared in Super Bowl 1 against the Green Bay Packers. They were beaten handily by Green Bay, as Bart Starr and Max McGee enjoyed stellar performances to lead the Packers to a 35-10 win.
It didn't take long for Kansas City to get its first Super Bowl win. Len Dawson led the Chiefs to a decisive 16-point victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl 4 a few years later. After that, however, Kansas City went 50 years without winning a title before Mahomes and Reid led the team to a 31-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54.
The Chiefs are appearing in their fifth Super Bowl since 2020 and are looking to improve to 4-1 in those contests. Their lone loss came in blowout fashion to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55. That gave Tom Brady his record seventh Super Bowl win while the Chiefs opted to rebuild their offensive line after the Buccaneers' pass rush gave them fits.
Most recently, the Chiefs beat the 49ers again in what was just the second Super Bowl to be decided in overtime. Mahomes hit Mecole Hardman for a game-winning touchdown after the 49ers settled for a field goal on their opening possession.
Kansas City also earned a last-second win in their most recent Super Bowl win over the Eagles. Harrison Butker made a field goal with 8 seconds remaining to give the Chiefs a 38-35 victory.
