Chiefs announce pregame and halftime entertainment for playoff game against Texans

The Chiefs are bringing back a Super Bowl champion to lead the pre-game drum ceremony at Saturday afternoon’s AFC Divisional playoff game against the Houston Texans.

Former punter Dustin Colquitt, who was part of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV championship team, will be the drum leader for the game, which starts at 3:35 p.m. at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Colquitt played 15 seasons with the Chiefs and made two Pro Bowls.

Lanell Lightfoot will sing the national anthem, and the color guard will be from the Kansas City police department. The pregame flyover will be from four CH-47 Chinook helicopters from the 158th aviation regiment.

At halftime, the rapper Big Boi will be performing from the GEHA Deck with a 5-minute medley of his songs, the Chiefs said.

The team is planning another light show that will be provided by fans and their phones. It will take place at the end of the third quarter.

To take part, fans will need to download the Chiefs app on their mobile phone and open it when directed by the team. To take part, fans will need to tap “Join Light Show” and enable microphone and camera access.

A few other things to note:

  • The NFL’s clear-bag policy will be in effect for the game

  • The stadium is cashless

  • Parking must be purchased in advance

  • Signs and flags must be no larger than 3 feet by 5 feet.

The parking lot at the Turman Sports Complex opens 4 1/2 hours before kickoff, so that would be at 11 a.m.
