Chicago Wolves Sign Austin Wagner
The Chicago Wolves have signed forward Austin Wagner to a contract for the remainder of the season, it was reported Tuesday.
Wagner, who joined the Wolves on a professional try-out in October, has seen six games with the team and has collected an assist. A product of Calgary, Alta., Wagner spent last season playing for IK Oskarshamn in the SHL, putting up eight goals and 13 points in 34 games.
Drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in fourth round of the 2015 NHL Draft, Wagner has appeared in 178 career NHL regular season games, scoring 23 goals and adding 19 assists for 42 points.
With Wagner staying put with Chicago for the rest of 2024-25, the Wolves add another player who can be a difference maker. Although his offensive totals don't stand out right now, Wagner has proven to be a play driver at the AHL level and there is no reason why he can't do it again.
