And they will face their first challenge, Connor Bedard.

The additions of TJ Brodie and Alec Martinez have strengthened the blueline. While the defense group isn't enough to win a Stanley Cup this year, it will help the Blackhawks reduce their goals against this season.

They aren't the only new faces on the team.

The Blackhawks added Tyler Bertuzzi, Ilya Mikheyev, Teuvo Teravainen, Craig Smith, and Pat Maroon. Their forward group is deeper and more dangerous. They have also added many veterans who can mentor the young talented core.

The Blackhawks will face a team looking to make a good impression.

The player to watch out for from Utah will be Clayton Keller. He was the most lethal player for them last season. In 78 games played, he recorded 76 points, 33 of which were goals.

Not too long ago, Utah named Keller the captain of the team.

Additionally, they have also named forward Lawson Crouse as an associate captain.

The Blackhawks must bring their best to beat a hyped-up team. Being in a new arena with a new crowd will have Utah ready to bring their best to the ice. Bedard and company will no doubt have their hands full tonight.

A team with the history of the Blackhawks knows a thing or two about making history. Now it's time for this group to be a part of their own history and to give Utah a night they won't soon forget.

Puck drop is at 9:00 PM Central time.
