Chicago Bears' projected 2025 salary cap space heading into offseason
The Chicago Bears wrapped their 2024 season with a 5-12 record, which included a 10-game losing streak (that was snapped with a Week 18 win against the Green Bay Packers) and the firings of head coach Matt Eberflus and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron mid-season.
There's plenty of change coming to the Bears in 2025 -- starting with hiring a new head coach -- and general manager Ryan Poles will have eight draft picks (including the No. 10 selection) and north of $82 million in salary cap space to build around quarterback Caleb Williams, who flashed his immense potential during his rookie season.
According to Over The Cap, the Bears are slated to have $82.14 million in cap space for 2025, which is the fifth most in the NFL. Only the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals are projected to have more.
Following three consecutive losing seasons, Poles has plenty to prove heading into 2025, especially now that the franchise has found its young quarterback to build around. Poles must use his immense resources, including three top 41 draft picks and fifth-most salary cap space, to address needs along the offensive line and defensive line.
This offseason is a crucial one for the Bears, who can either set the tone for a bright future or fall back into bad habits.
