Chicago Bears announce initial 53-man roster
Following a couple days worth of cuts, the Chicago Bears have finalized their initial 53-man roster.
That included some notable cuts like quarterbacks Brett Rypien and Austin Reed, cornerbacks Reddy Steward and Greg Stroman, as well as fullback Khari Blasingame, wide receiver Collin Johnson, offensive tackle Larry Borom and tight end Brenden Bates.
Keep in mind, this initial 53-man roster is subject to change as waiver wire claims are made and other players are moved around, including the possibility of long snapper Patrick Scales and others landing on injured reserve.
The Bears are ninth in the waiver wire priority, where general manager Ryan Poles will have a shot at landing some notable cuts as he looks to finalize the regular-season roster.
