Chelsea reject Milan’s initial approach for Carney Chukwuemeka

Milan’s pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka looks to have been temporarily put on hold.

The Rossoneri, who looked set to sign the young Englishman in the summer of 2022 only to be pipped at the post by Aston Villa, are keen to bring the 20-year-old to Serie A this time around, but according to Corriere dello Sport (via tuttomercatoweb), their initial approach of a possible loan agreement looks to have been rebuffed.

The youngster, who is an established international at youth level, was beset by injuries last season, limiting his Premier League appearances to just 223 minutes. During this time however, he did show glimpses of his undoubted talent which caught the eye of Rossoneri chiefs two years ago.

The Italian journal now states that Milan will bide their time, in the hope that the West London side will be ready to return to the negotiating table before the transfer window closes in early September.
