One journalist has just dropped some pretty big Chelsea transfer news late on Sunday night as we head into the final days of the transfer window.

The January window closes on February the 3rd this year, meaning that clubs have just 7 days from today to complete any business.

Sources: Liam Delap, Jhon Duran, Darwin Nunze, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Dusan Vlahovic – Transfer updates on new strikers!

Chelsea are slacking, they haven’t even completed any player sales yet let alone new arrivals. The only one that is close right now is Renato Veiga to Juventus on loan. Other than that, the biggest deals we are hearing about in terms of arrivals is a potential late deal to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United, although even that one has gone quiet after Chelsea have been preparing a bid for what seems like a lifetime now!

Of course, we are hearing about things for the summer now as well and if Chelsea cannot get some deals done this month, then they will try again in the summer. But will that come too late in their attempts to get Champions League football this season as they fall to 6th place in the Premier League this weekend? Yes, absolutely.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Chelsea are in pole position to sign striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, although they may have to wait until the summer to sign him.

Speaking on a space on X last night, Jacobs said:

“I think Chelsea are in pole position for Liam Delap, and I think they are ahead of other clubs in terms of player buy-in. One for the summer.”

Chelsea continue to be linked with Delap, but it looks like Ipswich want to keep hold of him until the summer at least, when they then might find it impossible to keep him.
