Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a shock move for Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho before the January window closes.

French outlet L’Equipe claims Garnacho is high on Chelsea’s wishlist, alongside Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi.

Garnacho is one of several players on Chelsea’s extensive shortlist, but they aren’t alone in the pursuit.

Napoli are also reportedly keen on Garnacho, viewing him as a potential replacement for Paris Saint-Germain-bound Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Chelsea are reportedly considering a summer move for Adeyemi. The Blues are long-term admirers of the German striker but are yet to formalise their interest.

United are struggling to get their finances in order, and they could entertain offers for Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo to balance the books.

Mainoo has also been linked with a move to Chelsea.

If United cash in on at least one of their academy graduates, it could free up funds for manager Ruben Amorim to reshape his squad.

Journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that Chelsea have enquired about Garnacho, but he says they also have their sights set on Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

Gittens has been in phenomenal form this season, notching 11 goals and five assists in 25 games in all competitions.

His performances have also drawn interest from Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, who are in the market for attacking reinforcements.
