Chelsea offer 3 loan players as condition of breaking disaster deal with Premier League team
Much like the rest of Armando Broja’s career since he shone at Vitesse and Southampton, his loan to Everton has been a disaster. He arrived injured, got fit, got injured again with a potentially season ending issue, and now they (understandably) want rid of him.
But it’s not going to be that simple – clearly they don’t have a unilateral termination clause, otherwise they would have triggered it by now. It’s down to talks with Chelsea to figure out how best to deal with this sticky situation.
The Athletic’s transfer deal sheet claims that the Blues will take their striker back – but only if they can loan out another player to the Toffees to replace him. Carney Chukwuemeka, Kiernan-Dewsbury Hall and Ben Chilwell are all names as “potential players of interest.”
David Moyes has his feet under the table now after taking over from Sean Dyche and has already got to work moving his old team up the table. We think any of those 3 would go a good job in helping him out, and get some valuable playing time themselves. It’s just a question of making the numbers work.
Loan solution seems the smart one for Chelsea and Everton
There’s a lot to get done in this last week of the window then. We hope that we do manage to get one of these guys out to Goodison Park as we think it would be good for them and for Chelsea. Leaving Broja there injured just to make savings on his wages is not a way to endear yourself either to him or to Everton. Surely there’s a better solution out there to keep everyone a little happier.
Taking him back on the condition they loan another player is a mutually agreeable setup, to us.
