Chelsea beat Wolves last night, but it wasn’t a great performance, at least in attack. Without Enzo Fernandez, the Blues struggled to progress the ball forward, and Cole Palmer was quiet.

The best players was obvious – he won man of the match awards, got praise across different broadcaster, and every stats site including WhoScored had him as top rated. Trevoh Chalobah’s return to Chelsea was the big story ahead of the game, and as so often in football it delivered. He gets a mighty 8.1/10 for his towering performance at the back.

The lowest rated player was also obvious – Robert Sanchez made a mistake which led to the Wolves goal and almost cost his team. He gets a lowly 6.0/10.

But which outfield player struggled most? Again, we’d have to say the ratings nailed it this time. Pedro Neto was in the team to replace Jadon Sancho, but the Portugal star got just a 6.3 rating in a game where he really struggled before being replaced early in the second half.

Perhaps it was just the pressure of playing against his old team. Either way, he did very little against a notably weak defence. He had just 31 touches, no shots or key passes, no dribbles and a pass accuracy of just 79%. A bad day at the office for a player trying to force his way into the team. If everyone is fit, we can only see Neto dropping out for Sancho when we play Man City this weekend.

So far this first season at Chelsea just isn’t really working out for the 24 year old. He still is stuck on one goal and two assists in the league, despite 11 starts and 8 appearances off the bench.
