Chelsea are considering launching a move to sign Porto winger Francisco Conceicao before an increase in the player’s release clause.

Conceicao has a release clause of €30m (£25.3m) in his contract with the Portuguese side, though that figure will increase to €45m (£38m) on July 15th.

The West Londoners are weighing up activating that fee in the coming days, according to Portuguese outlet Record, as Enzo Maresca looks to add another winger to his squad.

Conceicao broke into the Portugal squad ahead of Euro 2024 after impressing at Porto last season. The 21-year-old rejoined Porto from Ajax and scored five goals and provided four assists in 27 league appearances.

He ranked in the top four players in Portugal’s Primeira Liga for crosses into the penalty area, progressive carries, shot-creating actions and successful take-ons in 2023-24.

Conceicao, who is the son of former Portugal winger and Porto manager Sergio, made his debut for the national team in March and featured four times at Euro 2024.

He came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner against the Czech Republic in Portugal’s first game of the tournament.
