Chelsea loanee backed to have “magnificent” career with latest comments set to delight fans
Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior has backed Andey Santos to have a “magnificent career” and claimed his stats are “through the roof.”
Santos arrived at Chelsea from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama for a reported fee of £13m in 2022, with Chelsea heavily targeting the South American market under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.
The Brazilian has yet to make an appearance for the Blues, but they are said to be delighted with his current development in France.
Santos backed to have magnificent career
The 20-year-old was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest last season which turned out to be a disaster, with the midfielder barely kicking a ball.
Santos was recalled last January and sent to Strasbourg, where after a slow start he found his feet and put in a series of impressive performances.
There was talk of the Brazilian being part of the Chelsea squad this season, but he was once again sent to Strasbourg where he’s excelled.
His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with several of Europe’s top clubs said to keeping tabs on Santos and he’s scored seven goals from central midfield this season.
Santos looks set for a bright future and clearly has the capability to play a key role for Chelsea for many years to come.
Rosenior has been so impressed with the youngster and has backed him to have a “magnificent” career, whilst also claiming his stats are “through the roof.”
“Andrey is going to have a magnificent career,” he told The Athletic.
“You forget how young some of them are. Andrey plays like he’s 32. I call him Dunga. He’s Brazilian but he doesn’t play like one.
