Chelsea linked with surprise double swoop on Bundesliga giants with January window fast approaching
Chelsea are interested in Borussia Dortmund duo Gregor Kobel and Karim Adeyemi according to Sky Sports Germany.
The Blues have made a brilliant start to the season and currently sit second, just four points behind leaders Liverpool with the club on course to get back into the Champions League.
Chelsea have heavily invested in their squad over the past few years and with the January window fast approaching they are being linked with more players.
Chelsea linked with Kobel and Adeyemi
Speaking on Wednesday before Chelsea’s trip to Kazakhstan in the Conference League Enzo Maresca insisted the Blues weren’t currently thinking about the January window.
However, Sky Germany have reported the Blues are interested in Dortmund duo Kobel and Adeyemi, with the report adding Adeyemi is now advised by Ali Barat who’s believed to have great contacts with Chelsea.
The Blues were linked with Adeyemi over the summer, but nothing materialised and they signed Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto instead.
A move for Adeyemi doesn’t make sense given how stocked they are in the wide areas, plus the arrival of Estevao Willian after the Club World Cup next summer.
A new goalkeeper has been a topic of conversation amongst the media and fans, with the Blues previously linked to Kobel.
Maresca has publicly backed Sanchez on several occasions this season, whilst the Blues believe he has all the ingredients to become one of the best keepers in the Premier League.
If Chelsea are to sign anyone in January it will more than likely be a centre back, with Fabrizio Romano reporting last month the club are actively monitoring the market.

Chelsea keeping new injury quiet – but player can be easily replaced on Sunday
Benfica’s Tomas Araujo is believed to be a player the club like, but it’s unclear if the Blues will move in January or wait until next summer to sign a centre back.
Truth be told unless there’s a really good opportunity available the Blues could do with a quiet transfer window and just focus on outgoings with the likes of Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei likely to leave.
