Chelsea join hunt for Douglas Luiz as Juventus set terms
Juventus insist they are going to keep Douglas Luiz after his €50m transfer from Aston Villa, but Chelsea are the latest club linked with a potential approach.
The midfielder was considered an expensive flop after the first few months of his move, notable only for high-profile errors and with very little playing time.
However, he has started to push his way into Thiago Motta’s team in recent weeks.
According to Calciomercato.com, Chelsea are the latest side to show interest in bringing the Brazilian back to the Premier League.
They follow in the footsteps of Manchester City, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.
Douglas Luiz torn over Juventus future
Chelsea were already in talks with Juventus over Renato Veiga, as the defender is widely expected to join the Bianconeri on loan at a cost of €4.5m, with the salary and commission covered by the Blues.
He is expected to fly out tomorrow for a medical and to sign the paperwork.
Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has repeatedly stated they intend to keep all their current players, except for Danilo, but a loan with obligation to buy for Douglas Luiz could prove convincing.
