Chelsea have returned to winning ways in the Premier League, but the injuries continue to pile up.

The Blues ended a run of five matches without victory in England’s top flight as they beat Wolves 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke were all on the scoresheet on a night where Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returned from injury, Cole Palmer shook off a knock to start and Trevoh Chalobah shone on his return.

However, the bad news is there are still many players in the treatment room at Cobham. So ahead of a big game away at Manchester City this weekend here’s the latest Chelsea injury news.

Romeo Lavia

Romeo Lavia had only recently returned from injury, so it’s another setback for the talented midfielder.

Muscle fatigue is the reason he missed the win over Wolves, with Enzo Maresca delivering an update afterwards: “The Romeo [injury] is more important than the Enzo one,” he said. “We don’t know yet how long they are going to be out. Hopefully not too long.

“It’s muscle fatigue or muscle problems. Both against Bournemouth. The Romeo one was the yellow card, if you remember, and Enzo against Bournemouth in the 92nd or 93rd minute.”

Enzo Fernandez

Similar to Lavia, Enzo Fernandez is suffering from muscle fatigue. The good news is his problem is less important that his teammate, but it remains to be seen if he will be fit to face Man City at the weekend.

Maresca has revealed that he will await to be informed by medical experts how long the pair will be sidelined for.

Potential return date: Unknown

Levi Colwill

For the first time in the Premier League this season, Levi Colwill did not line up in the heart of Chelsea’s defence. A doubt ahead of the Wolves game after missing training last Friday, he too didn’t make the matchday squad.

Not much information has been disclosed with regards to the defender’s injury so he too is a doubt for the big game at the Etihad Stadium.

Potential return date: Unknown

Wesley Fofana

Enzo Maresca has reiterated his fear that Wesley Fofana could miss the rest of Chelsea’s season - but says he hopes the centre-back will prove him wrong after a public disagreement between the pair over the return timeframe.

“We speak the same language in terms of how we communicate between each other in English and in French, so it has been quite clear,” Maresca said ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup third round win against Morecambe.

“I just told you what the medical staff said to me, that it’s around 12-16 weeks. Wes is thinking that he can recover earlier than that. We are all happy if Wes is back as soon as possible. So, there’s no problem.”

Benoit Badiashile

Chelsea will also be without another defender in Benoit Badiashile for at least another month with a thigh problem.

“Benoit will be out at least until February,” confirmed Maresca.

Potential return date: February 2025

Carney Chukwuemeka

Carney Chukwuemeka is reportedly suffering with a virus but his absence is also linked to a potential departure before the January transfer window closes.

Potential return date: Unknown

Omari Kellyman

Summer signing Omari Kellyman has not featured for the club’s U21 side since suffering a hamstring injury in September.
