“Chelsea ended up messing up any deal” – Blues blamed for not signing world class striker

Chelsea have been blamed as the issue as to why they didn’t manage to sign one world class striker during the last summer transfer window in 2024.

I think everyone knows this story very well. As fans, we were all very much invested in this story at the time and it had the potential to be one of the biggest signings Chelsea would have made in a while. But it failed and it all broke down at the final stages of the window, and then it was too late for Chelsea to sign another striker and as a result, have been playing all this season with one top out and out striker choice.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea re-visit Liverpool player interest, Brighton man considered once again, Gittens interest, Garnacho historic admiration, George has loan offers, More!!!

And it turns out that according to one journalist at least, Chelsea were the ones who have messed this deal up in news that does not surprise me at all with how incompetent the sporting directors are at the club right now.

I am of course talking about Chelsea trying and failing to sign Victor Osimhen in the summer window, a story that was huge at the time.

Chelsea have continued to be linked with making a move for Osimhen at the end of the season, as it sounds like he is going nowhere right now anyway.

No surprise here.

Victor Osimhen’s close friend and journalist Buchi Laba has said today:

“Napoli turned down and frustrated every club interested in Victor Osimhen at the beginning of the season.

“The only club they didn’t frustrate is Chelsea and Chelsea ended up messing up any deal.”

And this is from a person who is certainly going to know more than most on this story, being a close friend of Osimhen and a journalist as well.
