Chelsea defender Jorja Fox has joined Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Crystal Palace on a season-long loan deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blues this afternoon.

With first team minutes at a premium at Chelsea this season, Fox will continue her development in South London with Crystal Palace. The player is part of Chelsea head coach Sonia Bompastor’s long-term plans and she has signed a new two-year deal with The Blues prior to going out on loan.

Fox joined the Chelsea academy as an eight-year-old and she has successfully negotiated her way through the youth ranks to the first team. The youngster made her senior debut for Chelsea as a substitute in a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa at The Poundland Bescot Stadium in January 2021.

Since making her senior debut for Chelsea, Fox has enjoyed loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion. The player was unable to further her development last season due to her recoving from Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury which has sidelined her for a year.

Fox is now back to full fitness and she will be hoping to shine for Crystal Palace as the club look to establish themselves in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
