Chelsea have completed the signing of England international defender Lucy Bronze on a two-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blues this morning.

Bronze joins the South West Londoners upon her departure from European champions FC Barcelona.

The 32-year-old full-back has spent the last two seasons in Spain. Bronze has won two UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, two finetwork Liga F titles, two Spanish Cups and the Spanish Super Cup as an FC Barcelona player.

On the international stage, Bronze has been capped by England on 124 occasions while she has scored 15 goals. She has won the UEFA Women’s EURO, the Women’s Finalissima, the SheBelieves Cup and two Arnold Clark Cups with the Lionesses.

Bronze has enjoyed a glittering career and she will be hoping to add more medals to her collection with new club Chelsea.

After completing her move to Stamford Bridge, Bronze said “To know I’m a Chelsea player still feels a little bit surreal. It’s obviously a club I know so much about and have done for such a long time.

“I’m really excited to be back in England. My family are so excited as well to get to more of my games. I’m excited to be in London, to see what the capital holds and to be at a club that is renowned for winning so many trophies.”

Bronze becomes Chelsea’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
