Chelsea have Champions League duo on their radar as they weigh up options to fill problem position
Chelsea are considering a move for Marc Guehi, but have a list of three other targets as they look to sign a new centre back according to reports.
The Blues, who are currently on a four game winless streak were expected to be quiet in the January window, but injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile have seemingly changed those plans.
It now appears the club will look to bring in a centre back, with a number of options said to be on the table for Chelsea this month.
Chelsea have three man shortlist outside of Guehi
The Blues are said to be considering recalling Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, which would represent a cost effective option, although it remains to be seen how open the defender would be to returning.
Chelsea are also looking at a move to bring back former player and Palace captain Guehi, who is now in the final 18 months of his contract, and have reportedly had what’s been described as a “silly” offer rejected for the 24-year-old.
However, Guehi and Chalobah aren’t the only possibilities and TBR Football have reported the Blues have an additional three man defensive shortlist.
The report adds Chelsea are said to be interested in Barcelona duo Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo, whilst Lens youngster Abdukodir Khusanov is also on the list.
Chelsea pursued Kounde previously when he was at Seville and Thomas Tuchel was in charge of the club, whilst there’s also uncertainty surrounding Araujo’s future as he only has 18 months left of his deal.

Khusanov is an exciting young talent who’s attracting interest from the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid, and it would seem unlikely for the Blues to make a move for the 20-year-old.
TBR Football adds that Guehi remains as one of Chelsea’s preferred options, but one thing that’s looking likely is the Blues will bring in a new centre back this month.
