Chelsea and Bayern 'hold talks' over player swap deal

Chelsea and Bayern Munich are reportedly discussing a player swap this January transfer window, according to new reports on Monday.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano and Sport BILD in Germany claim that the two players in question are Christopher Nkunku and Mathys Tel.

The English club is said to have reached out and asked about Bayern's plans for the French teenager. Then, to make the potential transfer more appealing, Chelsea subsequently offered up Nkunku as part of the deal.

Tel is said to have told Bayern manager Vincent Kompany he wants to remain at the club and continue to fight for a starting spot this season.

In his 12 appearances so far, the winger has registered zero goals or assists. However, he has 22 goal contributions from 81 appearances overall at Bayern.

Nkunku, meanwhile, has made 28 appearances for Chelsea this season, registering 13 goals and four assists.

If the transfer were to happen, it would be a return to the Bundesliga for the former RB Leipzig star.
