Chelsea midfielder Reanna Blades has left the club upon the expiration of her contract.

The Blues announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Blades joined Chelsea at Under-14 level. She successfully progressed through the academy age groups before signing her first professional contract with the South West Londoners early in the 2022/2023 season.

In her time as a Chelsea player, Blades helped a young Blues side to win the 2022/2023 FA Women’s Academy Cup while the youngster made her competitive first team debut as a substitute in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Reading in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup quarter-finals in the same season.

With first team minutes in short supply, Blades spent the 2023/2024 campaign out on loan. She joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Lewes on a season-long loan deal. During her time at The Dripping Pan, Blades made 20 appearances for Lewes in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she scored two goals. Unfortunately, she was unable to prevent the Sussex club from being relegated to the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.

Blades is the fourth player to leave Chelsea this summer. Maren Mjelde, Fran Kirby and Alsu Abdullina have also left the club since the end of the season.
