AC Milan are “very interested” in Portugal international Joao Felix according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

The Blues were expected to have a quiet January, but with around two weeks of the window left it appears business is starting to pick up.

Chelsea have recalled Trevoh Chalobah from his loan at Crystal Palace to provide cover at centre back given injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, whilst they have also been linked with a number of attacking players.

Chelsea are interested in Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, whilst they have also made an enquiry for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The Blues need an alternative for Nicolas Jackson up front, but as of yet there have been no real concrete links to strikers, although they are said to be leading the race for Liam Delap of Ipswich.

In order to bring an attacker in one will have to leave and the most likely candidate is Christopher Nkunku, who is believed to have agreed personal terms with Bayern, but Chelsea are said to want £65m.

However, Plettenberg has reported another forward could leave this month and he provided an update on the future of Felix.

He took to X.com and said:

“Understand AC Milan are now very interested in João #Felix. Meanwhile, there is still no sign of a transfer for Marcus Rashford. Negotiations are complicated due to the massive financial package involved. #CFC”

Felix only joined Chelsea in the summer from Atletico Madrid with the Blues paying £45m for the 25-year-old, but things haven’t gone to plan and he’s only started three Premier League games.

The Portuguese doesn’t seem to be in favour with Enzo Maresca, and his game time has been limited given he’s playing second fiddle to Cole Palmer in the number ten role.

Maresca has spoken about how he would like to play Felix and Palmer together, but that has hardly happened this season, although a January exit just six months after joining would be a big shock.
