Christopher Nkunku’s Chelsea stint is uncertain, with top European clubs reportedly circling for the forward’s signature. Graeme Bailey of TBR Football reported recently that the 27-year-old could be on the move as soon as January, with his representatives exploring opportunities elsewhere.

Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023 after a £52 million transfer but has found it challenging to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup, fueling rumors about his future.

Recently, journalist Ben Jacobs reported that PSG are genuinely interested in Nkunku, but they haven’t made a move to approach Chelsea yet.

The Blues are keen on keeping him, so any potential departure would likely depend on the player’s desire to leave. Meanwhile, Chelsea are not expected to go after Kolo Muani.

Nonetheless, if PSG want Nkunku still, it seems that they are dealt a transfer blow. Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported on Monday that Bayern Munich are eager to sign Nkunku immediately.

The German club has already reached a full verbal agreement with the player on a long-term contract, with all terms settled. Nkunku is also keen to make the move to Bayern as soon as possible.

Nkunku remains Bayern Munich’s top transfer target ahead of Deadline Day on February 3. Club chief Max Eberl is focused on securing a permanent deal rather than a loan.

The idea of including Mathys Tel in the deal with Chelsea has been floated to ease negotiations, but discussions between the clubs are ongoing.
