Going into this game Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca explained that he wanted more output from his wingers to take some of the pressure and expectation off Cole Palmer and Nicholas Jackson.

Noni Madueke had already been under Maresca's microscope in December when he said the English winger "can do much more".

The 22-year-old was brilliant against Wolves.

He started really brightly and although he lacked end product in the first half his perseverance was rewarded in the second.

His cross that set up Marc Cucurella's goal was delightful and then he showed a slightly selfish streak to head home on the line for the third goal.

That is by no means a criticism. All the best players have that desire and will to score.

That action is something that should delight Maresca and offer hope to Chelsea about Madueke's long-term ceiling.
