SATURDAY / TOP AREA GAME

Bunker Hill (3-1, 1-0 Catawba Valley 2A) at West Lincoln (3-2, 1-1), 6:30 p.m. — Due to Hurricane Helene, West Lincoln and the rest of the conference are mired in a number of rescheduled games. For West Lincoln, this will be the second game of three in a stretch of nine days. That stretch began with a big 19-14 victory Wednesday over Maiden. Both West Lincoln and Bunker Hill have strong ground games. Bunker Hill RB Jason Willis Jr. is averaging 176 rushing yards a contest. West Lincoln had 171 rushes and 17 passes in its first four games.

MONDAY / MECKLENBURG

Community School of Davidson (2-2, 1-0 Catawba Shores 1A-2A) at Mountain Island Charter (1-3, 0-1), 6:30 p.m. — The visiting Spartans will be playing for the second time in four days. It’s a meeting of teams with excellent passing attacks. Spartan QB Jake Johnson threw for 855 yards in the first four games. Grayson Harvey has 1,116 passing yards for Mountain Island Charter.

MONDAY / TOP AREA GAME

North Iredell (2-3, 1-1 Western Foothills 3A) at No. 16 North Lincoln (4-1, 1-1), 7:30 p.m. — As is the case with the Catawba Valley 2A, the Western Foothills 3A also is in the midst of making up games due to Hurricane Helene — as is the case with this contest. North Lincoln, which fell 60-25 Wednesday at Hickory, will try to bolster its 3A playoff hopes behind the running of Shannon Wingate (772 rushing yards and an area-leading 84 points).
