Who is Charlotte Dujardin? Medal total, ranking for equestrian dressage Olympian

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are just days away but one of the top athletes in the games will not be participating this year. Charlotte Dujardin, defending bronze medalist in individual equestrian dressage, has withdrawn from the Paris Olympics.

The 39-year-old is one of the United Kingdom's most decorated female Olympians of all time. Her six Olympic medals are tied for the most in the country's history among female athletes. She will not be participating in the Paris Olympics after the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) handed the three-time Olympian a six-month suspension following an investigation into a video "depicting Ms. Dujardin engaging in conduct contrary to the principles of horse welfare.”

“The footage was allegedly taken several years ago during a training session conducted by Ms. Dujardin at a private stable,” the FEI stated in a release.

Dujardin said in a statement that the video from four years ago “does not reflect how I train my horses or coach my pupils, however there is no excuse. I am deeply ashamed and should have set a better example in that moment."
