But the champion in him kept him determined >> Sometimes I look at life as rounds you know just like in the boxing ring you know round 1 round 2 round 3 but I know when that happened to me I knew that wasn't the end of my fight >>reporter: that same year hetook part in the next paralympian search at the richmond oval — and leo has since been unstopp >> You know meeting many inspirational athletes, adaptive athletes and stuffit just opened my eyes to a whole new world >>reporter: leo joined t canadian para nordic team, continues to compete, is the director of diversity and inclusively on the boxing bcboard, and is also the founder of west coast wheelchair adaptive boxing — helping create opportunities for others >> It's a great super power to have. It really is. Being able to show an individual their...their potential. >>reporter: amongst a long list of goals, leo hopes to take adaptive bg to the paralympics - and keep motivating people to never give up on themselves. >>and maybe show them that no matter how hard things get in life they can overcome and they can get through it. This after 18-year-old u-vic student sidney mcintyre-starko died from a fentnayl overdose. In an open letter - her mother caroline mcintyre -- says a 15-minute delay in sidney receiving naloxone or c-p-r contributed to her death. Mcintyre is now calling on c-p-r and naloxone training to be standard in high schools.
