The evacuation order for the municipality and other surrounding areas will lift at 8 am this morning. Officials have deemed it safe for fort nelson'ughtly 4700 residents to home, but the parker lake wildfire burning just a few kilometres west of the town still remains out of control. The bc wildfire service says dry conditions and lightning will pose cenges for crews fighting fires over the next few days. >> Speaker: the concern for the next couple of days is the chance of thunderstorms developing in the area. Surrey rcmp are on the hunt for two armed men who broke into an office last week. The two men are seen running away with a stolen cell phone. The whole incident lasted less than a minute. >> Speaker: by the time heod up and he saw me stood up and he ran away. Both of those guys run away out of my office.>> Reporter: it's unclear what their motive was. The owner says about a month ago he got a phone call with a robotic voice demanding money. >> Speaker: about a month ago, I had a call from someone asking for money and I called rcmp too and they mention that and they said it's nothing to worry about people been calling like. >> Reporter: it's unclear if the two incidents are related. But back in january, surrey rcmp held a public forum to discuss a rise in extortion cases and >> Speaker: I'm concerned. Rcmp are now investigating, saying this appears to haven targeted but that a motive is still unclear. They are hopto speak with witnesses and gather additional video. But they follow that up saying it is an isolated incident and not a safety concern to the general public. Rcmp in dawson creek went to great lengths to arrest a pair of suss after a hit and run. Rcmp say they were called to a crash around 6:30 thursday morning after uv u-turned in front of a truck. They crashed, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The driver and passe of the suv fled the scene. Officersnd them in a nearby forest with the help of a police dog and drone. The two men are facing multiple charges.
