Champions Classic, including KU basketball vs. Duke, returns to New York in 2025

The State Farm Champions Classic, a one-day college basketball doubleheader featuring Kansas, Duke, Kentucky and Michigan State, will return to New York City in November of 2025, ESPN announced on Tuesday.

KU will play the Blue Devils, while Kentucky will take on Michigan State on Nov. 18, 2025 in Madison Square Garden. Game times will be announced in the summer of 2025, with tickets going on sale in September of 2025.

The 2025 Classic will be the 15th in the history of the one-day event matching the four blue-blood schools.

This year’s Classic is set for Nov. 12 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. KU will meet Michigan State at 5:30 p.m. Central followed by Duke-Kentucky at approximately 8 p.m. The games will be shown on ESPN.

KU and Duke are tied for the best record in the event at 8-5. Kentucky and Michigan State are each 5-8. KU is 2-2 versus Michigan State at the Classic.

The event has featured at least two top-10 teams in 14 years. KU is starting the season ranked No. 1 in the AP poll. Duke is No. 7, Kentucky No. 23 and MSU unranked.
