There's no word yet on the cause or damage estimate. The province's police watchdog is investigating after a police shooting in northeast edmonton. Police say a uniformed officer came across a man with a weapon saturday night at a gas station and 93rd street and one 44th avenue. The officer immediately called for backup. There was a confrontation and the officer fired. The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say they found a suspected conductive energy weapon at the scene. 29 year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in south edmonton. Officers were called to a parkey near southgate centre saturday night after several reports of gunshots. When police arrived, they found a man who had been shot. The eps firearms unit is investigating thousands of albertans are uniting against the ucp government. Protests were held around the province on saturday. A number of groups spoke about changes to alberta's healthcare, education and affordability. Enough is enough ucp. The university of calgary is reopening its oil and gas engineering program. A positive sign for alberta's energy sector. The university plans to restart the program next fall. It stopped admitting students to its petroleum engineering degree program in 2021. The decision happened after a multi-year period of low oil prices and widespread energy sector layoffs or pri prices have rebounded since then. And oil companies happened, generating strong profits for 2 years. Now a spokesperson says the university's once again seeing demand from young people interested in the oil and gas sector. We're expecting to learn more today about groundbreaking pilot project aimed at transforming cancer treatment in that our province. The sentiment project uses magnets to dramatically improve cancer surgery and the patient experience. Magnetic seed is inserted at the tumour site, locating it for doctors. This allows for less

complicated scheduling, fewer imaging appointments and invasive procedures in college is leading the project hopes this pilots will show the benefits of magnetic markers leading to its use across the province.
