think of what. That has a new and. That will come later. >> The devastation stretches into wisconsin and minnesota trailers flipped this barn left in splinters, trees and electrical lines snapped, leaving tens of thousands without power. Hundreds of thousands across the region now picking up the pieces with forecasters warning more severe weather could be on the way. Jay gray, nbc news. >> Atchison. And last we heard from you, we do have some thunderstorm watches that not here in london, but to the east and north. There are some possibilities of severe weather. Yeah, there's been severe east and northeast of us, even a tornado warning as I mentioned off the top now there's no reports of that tornado touching down, but many of visuals of some funnel clouds. >> In the air and in terms of on the ground, seeing a significant amounts of hail earlier in the day. This in south london. You can see beautiful blue sky. We held onto that blue sky for the better part of the day. We did see some threatening clouds at times. But all in all, we had some a gorgeous conditions out there was nice and calm. The winds, though, picking up this afternoon and gusting out of the southwest upwards of 50 kilometres per hour right now at the london airport hitting 26 degrees. Our low 20 in terms of what's normal 20 is our normal daytime high and that's where we were last night through the overnight. 26 degrees on the hour, the pressure is falling and the winds sustained at south southwest 32. But those gusts are reaching over 50 clicks. Now as we head through the late evening, our this is all in advance of the cold front. That's making the move through southern ontario. That's why we have the potential for some severe weather. And you can see this is stretches all the way down to the southern plains, where they are seeing some a damaging hail wind gusts and a tornadic activity. Low pressure, you can see spending just off to the northwest and there's even snowfall in northern ontario. And a special weather statement expecting some snow to move through tonight. We'll stay on the warm side. I mentioned the tomorrrow will still be quite hot in the afternoon, but it will feel a bit drier. So today we were talking about in the low 30's tomorrow. It will feel like the upper 20's. So still some summer-like heat as we zoom into the great lakes. A severe thunderstorm watches still in effect into perth county. Great county. And we do have a line of storms that have just bubbled up in the last hour. There are some isolated little spotty showers at north of london. But other than that, it's been clear and calm. So we'll leave in that slight probability just with the front coming through over the next couple of hours. This is not widespread and that not everyone will pick up thunderstorms, in the london area. Very unlikely as that front slips through across the country. We take a look at western canada where temperatures are on the cooler side. We're going to see a cool shift as we have a wrap-up the month of may. I'm expecting a temperature trend change and we will see the temperatures dropping off so end of may likely may 28th as we head throughout early june. We will swing the other way and see temperatures that much cooler than average. So we have a greater probability of below normal temperatures. So a major, a swing on the way once again, temperature wise across southern ontario. And as we head out east tonight, that warmth spreading all the way to halifax at 26. So big cooler overnight than it was last night. I know many people using fans and air conditioners over the past couple of days. Even a friend of mine that messaging matter air conditioner had broken. So I know why you're hoping for some cooler temperatures. 14 degrees overnight in london, 13 to 12 as we head to midwestern ontario quite for this heat and humidity after many people hoping for some more cooler spring days heading into tomorrow. We're back into some sunshine and a few fair-weather clouds to the north. But other than that, your thursday looks absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous on friday as well. Our next system moving in on saturday with about a 60% chance of showers. I'm not to rain at your weekend. So that's some good news. And sunday looks good during the day, your thursday high in london. 25 will be cooler toward goderich mount forest and wiarton about 22. So northern huron and perth county, your high temperature. 20 to 22 degrees. So waking up to sunshine in the morning. We will see a brief wind shift to the northwest tonight, but back to the southwest tomorrow and winds will be light and variable in the afternoon. Full sun to mainly sunny high pressure building back in our metal roof outlet forecast for your friday sunshine and 26 showers on saturday. A mix of sun and clouds sunday, but the chance for night rain as we head into monday, mainly cloudy with 40% chance of showers and mainly cloudy tuesday, wednesday, temperatures start to drop off or back down to about 18. So normal daytime high for this time of year about 20 degrees will be well above that. I know a number of track and field meets going on in the area, the next couple of days looking good for that. Lots of sunshine thursday and friday showers hold off until saturday. Looks like the bulk of the rain coming early in the

day, but will clear out by saturday evening. Then the chance for some light rainfall early next week. And then the temperatures drop off and that's what we're expecting. So we have some warmth to some heat, rather carlyle for tomorrow, not quite as humid, lots of sunshine as we wrap up the week. A few showers over the weekend for grass and gardens and then cooler, more spring-like air coming our way as we head toward midweek next week. All right, julie, thanks very much. >> Still to come, the boycott goes on. Organizers say based on community response, they'll continue buying groceries anywhere.
