His balance is very poor. >> As well as being able to retain information >> And >> Grass everyday small task and knowledge is was very >> Challenging. Doctors initially thought the delays were due to complications from surgery. Anthony had as a baby. He was born with excessive fluid around his brain. After more than 100 visits to the hospital and being bounced from one specialist to another. Anthony was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder. Tim jansen syndrome is about only 400 people in the world known with this disease right now as we speak. >> And he's actually the first one diagnosed with this disease and north america. There are 6,000 rare genetic diseases and tunney's diagnosis may not have happened if he wasn't flagged for testing. >> Do an ai algorithm name did think rare. It was developed by scientists working with tech experts. It's kind of a nudge. >> It's not, we're not replacing the doctors where we're kind of helping them with with some of these digital tools for this pilot project. Researchers used the algorithm to analyze 10 years of data consisting of more than 250,000 patient records of that number. 15 people were flagged as having potential rare genetic diseases. >> Ai is a lunch you doctors to diagnose rare disorders in kids much earlier. So families can get help faster. If you don't have a specific diagnostic code attach to human health in the

Judy trinh, ctv news, ottawa. >> And finally tonight, a grade 9 athlete is the talk of the track and field community in windsor. The young star has been shattering longtime records. And tonight ctv's bob bellacicco shows us why all eyes are on her when she's racing. >> No one near a new chant at the finish or oh, my and her time in the 800 >> That's right. Wow. 2 minutes, 7 seconds. 14 year-old chan easily shattered the swossaa record in the novice girls 800 meter race by over 4 seconds on the same day it was set 22 years ago. The baseball really good. Well, I was doing it and I think my hardwork impacts in finally paid off. So is quite happy with the results. She's just amazing. I love having her as a little sister and we love encouraging her. >> You can even tell like the staggered was like as soon as gone. Chan finished 14 seconds ahead of the next runner. Her time would have won her. The senior raise a repeat of that performance in 2 weeks at off. So with set records in the novice and junior divisions and be a second and a half shy of being the senior record. She is definitely a generational talent coming through right now. Today's dominant performance in the 800 metre gives a new a 5 for 5 starting her high school career. She's won all 5 races in broken 5 records in the process. And I'm not talking by a second or 2 either last week at the city championships, chan won the 4081500 in record time. >> All faster than the winners in the senior races. Then wednesday during day one of the swossaa championships, the grade 9 massey student broke a 26-year-old record in the 400. It feels like a really big achievement and I'm really happy about it. She works, but she doesn't, she's doesn't work over the hard. Most of what we're seeing right now is just or natural talent coming through her early accomplishments are reminiscent of herman grab. Brandon mcbride, who ran the 800 meter and competed at the 2016 2021 olympic games. Yes, as some play is the my juice to go to the olympics. (Snickering) Hanging tree >> Ctv news with reta ismail. >> Good evening, thank you for joining us. More housing units are coming to london's downtown, a vacant office tower is turning into an apartment complex. Ctv sean irvine reports. >> Standing on the northeast corner of richmond and dundas since the 1960's. The former cibc office tower and later rexall drugstore has been vacant for half a decade. But inside a now barren main-floor comes news. It won't be empty for long 3 floors of the building will be converted into 15 apartments. None of them will fit the criteria for affordable housing. 14 of those will be 2 bedroom apartments and one of them will be a single bedroom unit. The developer masked group is taking advantage of a city grant incentive program. It will provide nearly $500,000 towards the project mask. Group representatives were noticeably absent at the announcement, but the mayor confirms the project will be complete by the fall. He tells ctv news london. The first 2 floors will be home to an unnamed commercial tenant. Within months. The downtown is getting better. >> Things are improving. >> But can this redevelopment ignite the spark at what once was the prime corner in the heart of the city. That is the hope. You we have a lot of history here. We have a lot of great buildings here and it's just, you know, re converting them so we can actually bring people in again. And we bring that use back. >> Returning richmond and dundas to the level of attraction and held until the mid 1980's will be a feat, but not an impossible one in this is going to be contributing to creating our downtown community and as well supporting our our downtown businesses. >> In london, sean irvine, ctv news. >> Western university officials say they are calling in london police in an effort to end a pro-palestinian encampment on campus. The school claims safety concerns while demonstrators maintain they've been nothing but peaceful. Ctv's gerry dewan reports. >> The western university divestment coalition encampment is now into its 3rd week with dozens of tents covering a grassy area in front of the university community centre. They continue to call for the university to pull financing or involvement with businesses are agencies that support israel's military incursion into western officials issued a statement early wednesday evening stating they are increasingly concerned, citing what they say have been mounting incidents of unsafe and illegal behaviour, but didn't give specific examples. The statement says the university has engaged the london police liaison team to communicate with encampment organizers. We're out there as of yesterday and will be out there continuously wrote their guns today will be out there again tonight just to again mediate and discuss with both sides. The police liaison team was formed within the last year and has already been deployed a number of times 24 times already since january first. So we use them extensively and similar to our crisis negotiating team members that are hand selected these people or pets because, you know, they just have that genuine ability to build rapport with people's demonstrators at the encampment on thursday morning declined to be interviewed on camera, but insist their protest has been peaceful. We fully support people's lawful rates of protest and to assemble and to speak. We just want to make sure everything is done safely and again, that is lawful. Gerry dewan, ctv news. >> A lot of noise today around a recommendation to prohibit gas-powered lawn mowers after 6:00pm ctv's daryl newcombe brings us the latest on the citywide debate. >> Pulling this cord. Is leading to discord in london on wednesday. The civic works committee recommended holding a public meeting in july to consider reducing the hours when gas powered lawn equipment can be use. Currently, london sound by-law restricts the use of all motorized lawn equipment to between 7:00am and 10:00pm. The proposal would differentiate between power source is limiting gas-powered mowers, blowers and trimmers to between 8:00am and 6:00pm. The blow back online began almost immediately. According to councillor skylar franke. People the there really want to mow their lawn whenever they feel like or they're actually very supportive of this because they're annoyed with neighbours that used leaf blowers at 9:00pm when they're trying to go to bat. I think a lot more on a sunday afternoon as more noxious to one after separate on wednesday night, it could go to likes 7.30 of the ball. The nicer for the people that work, my my lawn, you know,
