The city says approximately 80% of the actions in the housing strategy will be in issued by the end of 2024 strategies broken down into 5 outcomes like increasing housing supply, making more diverse housing and treating affordable options for indigenous people out of 98 total actions. The city is currently started work on 64. It's good news on the progress front city administration does estimate at minimal one in 5 households in calgary cannot afford where they currently live across the province. Right climbed again this month up 16.2% from this time last year, nearly twice the national average, a huge factor in the housing crunch is influx of people coming into alberta. They also found one in 4 people are experiencing food insecurity with food banks across the country, seeing a 50% increase in visits since 2021 cupe, local 38 holding a strike vote on may, 15th and 16th with key outstanding issues being wages and work from home. The company is providing them with free credit monitoring and identity theft protection. 2 men charged with first-degree murder in the death of a calgary woman are scheduled to appear in court today. She is believed to have been killed after disappearing in february, police allege she was lured to this home on rundlehorn drive northeast by swick and rushton, who she knew and david ennis ins with. We're in a previous relationship and she was targeted because of her history as a worker. Police say investigators believe that she was killed inside of that home and then her body was disposed of outside of the city. According to alberta justice, both of those men have lengthy criminal histories and jefferson.
