we are looking bit of a cooler day today. It's not now, but he will be later in that we're not really warming up a lot. We have a couple of the influences one still that complex, so low that cold low all blacks that we're dealing with this over southern saskatchewan. Yes, it is complex and it's a low complex, 6 degrees in strathmore and we're sitting at 3 degrees on the west side in cochrane and in bragg creek, end 4 degrees in airdrie, 5 in okotoks, 6 in corner brook, custom designed homes on green space in corner brook. But again, this is situations. Talk us, you have your cold low complex and it is influencing all the way into portions of northern ontario. Then you also have a montana low and together, they're driving some of that cooler air pulling in the cooler air and keeping it into southern alberta and that instability is that is associated with that at, but that low will continue to track the east. And as it dies, we're looking at the potential for some very severe storms across the midwest. I'll show you that in a moment. But here will see a little bit of a reprieve as we head into the weekend or temperature getting closer to finally start to see some bringing in some warmer air as we get into monday. So that's where we will start to see our temperature improve. Some models suggesting we'll really peak. Most are saying no, there's a lot of model agreement that we're going to have a very brief, a foray into the 20's before we drop back down. But 6 right now in calgary, you can see those temperatures of 1920 into portions the central north east in the U.S. that warm air is meeting up with this colder air. And already you can see that instability here. But as we look at what's coming next, we'll see that that cold complex as it tracks to the east is going to be replaced with that montana low and look at the severe styles. So has this really gets a little more defined. We could see some pretty intense activity south of the border, the overnight hours heading into friday and then snow potentially in may be heavy rain into manitoba up to 50 millimetres. Some models suggesting 11 degrees here today. And then 15 for the weekend. We had that beautiful photo sent in from grandpa aunt who with his camera griffith woods showing the rain and the effects of it. In april, the city as calgarians to conserve water concerned that dry winter could require city water restrictions as early as may and china this morning holding military drills around taiwan, calling them punishment against the island for inaugurating its new president. And 2026. >> The alberta teachers association says at least 13 school boards are going to be receiving less funding from the provincial government come september. The president of the 80 age is a chilling. Joining us this jason, thanks so much for your time this morning. Us just have a look at some of these cuts. And we did, of course, asked the education minister about them. He says they were very small reductions due mainly to declining enrolment. >> Well, good morning. And thanks for having me here. >> So when we have a look at some of these cuts, I a million dollars off the medicine hat school divison a 2.3% from the northland school division. What what's your understanding of of of how this mask came to be? >> When you look at the profiles that each school jurisdiction gets. This is where the details come in and it's a little bit counter to what we heard from the government in february when the budget came down, when they you know, to celebrating that this is a large increase to a funding in the province. Yet we're still the least funded jurisdiction. All of canada. Now we look at the funding profiles, we see 13 boards that have to reduce have cuts. This is going to mean potentially staff cuts, lack of resources for students and some program cuts for for students who are living in rural areas that deserve to the same opportunities in education. As is that the students across the province. >> Now I know you're laying some of the blame for this on the funding model that was put in place under the kenney government. Explain how it works and and why you're concerned. >> But we have this new weighted moving average and its experts over the course of 3 years. So the look at the funding of the number of students that you had last year, how many students you have this current year and then how many students are projected to have in the next year. The weeding moving average is then over the course of 3 years and if you have a huge increase of students, such as what you're seeing in calgary, another urban areas and rocky view, for example. And the students are funded over 3 years, not when those students show up at their schools. And so you can get hundreds, if not thousands of students, which we've seen this year across this province were not funded. And school boards are scrambling to meet their needs. It without any kind of funding that increases are class size. That's the impacts that we have in our classrooms. And teachers are feeling that and so are students. >> What kind of response have you had from the minister around your concerns with these cuts? >> Well, want to talk to the minister about funding in cuts and included in that as well. Again, they get the kind of talking points a meeting with this is the highest number we've ever we've ever spent a public education that they're doing not there to funding for inflation and growth, which is just not entirely true because we're seen boards across the province who have cut sports, who are seen increases their small other marginal. They're less than one percent. And then you're seeing the large urban boards such as calgary and edmonton, who are scrambling to meet the needs of their students because the funding is not keeping up with inflation and growth. >> Okay, we'll continue to follow it. And certainly as we get closer to september as always. Appreciate your time. That is jason chilling president of the gta. Thank

you. Thanks. >> Good morning. We are just taking a look at a downtown calgary with our sky watch weather camera brought to by the original alberta carpet cleaning and alberta furness cleaning best-value expert service and guaranteed results. And we do have our temperature today that will be around 11 degrees, which is below seasonal. We expect to see that says 17 degrees is our normal or our average temperature. We're not going a stop at around 11. We'll have a lot of cloud today. You might have moments of blue sky, but those are not going to be the norm. Our record low is -3.3. We also want to see that our starting temperature 6 degrees is warmer than you would expect for an 11 for a daytime high, but it's that we're just not reaching those higher highs. Our lows are not bottoming out, its that are higher. Our highs are not reaching where they should be. They are, getting about 16 hours a last step sunlight between sunrise and sunset. So that's one bonus. We do have a temperature of around 10 11 degrees by mid to late afternoon with that risk of some showers and even the odd isolated thunderstorm. And if we do see those thunderstorms, it will be because of that montana low and we're seeing that will produce probably some very active weather portions of the midwest and that combined with that complex that has been affecting us from southern saskatchewan to working together to number one, introduce some cooler air into the region and is suppress those temperatures, but also for the opportunity for some lift with that instability in your atmosphere profile. And so we may see those isolated thunderstorms, the bulk of our precipitation closer to the foothills as opposed to the qeii are the number 2, but it will be west of our city. Our regional forecast looking at about 11 degrees for red deer's daytime high. 13 in lethbridge, 9 degrees in lake louise and temperatures into those low double digits in medicine hat and brooks and into pincher creek. That warm-up coming by the middle of that 3 day forecast and 15 degrees for us on friday, saturday and sunday will see more sunshine starting on sunday into monday. But our daytime highs are going to really is warm as some models are suggesting, but we should see at least one day into those mid 20's. Yeah, currently men was also looks up with what you laughing. I don't think in synchronized if you're by is what you think in ise ing is >> But you can't always work with the group.
