Boston Celtics’ forward Jayson Tatum showcased his newest tattoo on his calf: the word ‘LIFE’ in block letters filled with characters from his favorite movies that he said have inspired him.

Although Tatum is no stranger to elaborate tattoos, he unveiled an addition to his already extensive back tattoo in August.

This ink pays tribute to his mother, son, and the significant symbols that represent his time before and during the NBA. Among these symbols is an image of his Jordan brand shoe, the Jayson Tatum 1s.

What does Tatum's 'Life' tattoo mean?

His latest ink, however, is a quick jaunt through all of the movies that the star Celtic admires.

In the movie John Q, actor Denzel Washington portrayed the character of John Quincy Archibald, represented by the letter 'L'. Actor Will Smith, shown in the allergic reaction scene from Hitch, is symbolized by the letter 'I'. The letter 'F' represents actor Wesley Snipes in his role from White Men Can't Jump. Lastly, the character of Dash from the Disney film The Incredibles is seen in the letter 'E'.

Tatum's signature shoe tattoo:

Tatum has been a Jordan Brand athlete since 2019, but the Tatum 1s is his first signature shoe released. Tatum stated to Nike that he focused on a lightweight design that gives support to be a reliable basketball shoe.

Tatum told Nike that as a child, he would frequently visit shoe stores to search for his favorite players' signature sneakers. He stated that once his own shoe was produced and he wore it, he accomplished his objective of enabling his fans to connect with him and closing the distance between himself and his supporters.

Tatum also created an easy-to-wear version of his signature shoe for young basketball fans. The design is tailored for kids, allowing them to step into the shoe and slide their foot all the way in. This design locks the heel in place, ensuring that the child's foot remains secure without the need for shoelaces.

The Tatum 1s were released in April 2023 in a range of sizes. The adult sizes retail for $120, while the kid sizes retail for $75.
