Celebrini One Of Many Sharks To Use Rainbow Tape During Warmups For Pride Night

San Jose Sharks standout rookie Macklin Celebrini was one of many players who used rainbow pride tape during Pride Night at SAP Center.

Other players using pride tape included Henry Thrun, Tyler Toffoli, Mario Ferraro, Barclay Goodrow, Cody Ceci, Timothy Liljegren, and Jake Walman.

Dean Tait of Sport Shots captured warmups and helped the players display their support for the LGBTQ+ community using Pride (rainbow) tape.

Controversy surrounds Pride Night games throughout the NHL and any night where a specialty jersey could be used. Before the 23-24 season, the NHL banned specialty warmup jerseys for any cause. Ryan Warsofsky told reporters today that he and the Sharks organization believe hockey is an inclusive game.

"I think [Pride night] is great for the community; it's great for our organization to be involved in that," Warsofsky said. "I know hockey is really for everyone, and that's what it's all about. It shouldn't matter where you lie. We want to accept everyone, and that's what this organization is all about."

Warsofsky said he's open to having specialty jerseys return and will support the league if that chance returns.
