>>> A former security guard for trinity western university has been sentenced to 18 monday for manslaughter. Now, it stems from the death of howard glen hill back in 2020. The ruling from the B.C. screak says jack cruthers hutchinson put hill in a prolonged head look and that contributed to his death, when hill was walking through campus residents, hutchinson found him and the two got into a physical confrontation. When police arrived, hill was unconscious and died in the hospital two days later. Hutchinson will serve his sentence in his first nations community. >>> Some simon fraser university students stage a pro-palestinian demonstration this afternoon and they're echoing calls from across the continent demanding schools divest from companies supplying weapons or war materials for israel. >> We've had plenty of opportunities to share e-mails and letters demanding divestment and they continue to ignore us. >> Protesters waved flags and signs outside the library at the harbour centre campus. The group is always calling for an immediate cease-fire in the middle east and condemned the targeting of universities in gaza.
