down ticket prices? >> No. Because, again, the ticket prices are set by the artist. So unless the artist will buy in and say, yeah, I'm going to have to take less money per show, ticket prices -- actually, ticket prices could go up. Because if this is broken up and ticketmaster is forced -- let's say live nation is forced to compete with other promoters in a regional or national basis, what will happen is these protestors will bid for shows. The whole thing about a winning bid the guaranty guarantee that the artist will get. Whoever promises the biggest guarantee is the one who will get the gig. That leaves the promoter on the hook for greater costs. What is going to happen? Well, they're going to have to filter that down to the price of a concert ticket. They'll have to negotiate with the artist to say, look, if you want this kind of guarantee, you're going to have to charge this much, or they'll have to increase the facility fee and get a rebate on that so everybody can get paid. So this could actually create a bigger mess than what we have right now. >> Omar: I guess for fans who were watching this lawsuit and hoping that the average fan would see something change in terms of ticket prices as a result, I imagine they'll be a little disappointed to hear your perspective on this because it sounds like it is not going to change. >> The economics are that the artist controls the price of the ticket prices. It will have very little to do with the overall price of a concert ticket because their costs are their costs. You can make an argument that you can drive that 5% commission that ticketmaster makes, but that is not going to make that much of a difference. >> Omar: allen, thank thank you so much for your perspective on this. Allen cost is a writer and host of the podcast "ongoing history of new music." >>> A multi-billion collection of rock and roll memorabilia is going up for auction at the end of the month. >> It is our annual music icons event in new york city. >> Omar: among the outfits and instruments on the block is a guitar owned by lennon, which was played by lennon and george harrison. The wardrobe items are those warn by the spice girls, elvis presley, and michael jackson. The sales are expected to bring in between $4 million and $ $5 million.

In a massive show of force, china has launched a series of military drills off the cost of taiwan. Beijing has called it a punishment for separatist forces seeking independence in the south-governing island. Taiwan is condemning it as a provocation to shake up peace and stability in that region. >> Reporter: chinese warships and planes are carrying out 48-hour military drills in the taiwan strait in five areas surrounding taiwan. This comes just three days after the swearing-in ceremony of taiwan's new president, someone that beijing has long called a pro-independent political speaker. His speech was deemed by many experts in the u.s., canada, and taiwan as being cautious in regards to the relationship we china. But beijing was not satisfied, and the foreign minister in beijing said these military drills were a stern warning for all of the pro-independent voices in taiwan and also a punishment. Here in taiwan, it is being

called provocation, and the new president said he wouldn't hesitate to join his troops on the frontline, if need be, to defend freedom and democracy. As for the u.s., a deputy commander for the U.S. forces in the indo pacific region said there would be deep consequences if there was to be any sort of military cont fronttation confrontation in the region. >> I cannot underscore enough how devastating a conflict in the ind indo pacific region would be. >> Reporter: china immediately responded by warning the U.S. to stop backing and selling arms to taiwan. Now, how are taiwanese reacting here? Well, some of them are saying it is just like last year, it is just like 2022, when the chinese military held similar drills. They say that these chinese threats, sadly, are part of life and that it is hard to be a taiwanese. Cbc news, taipei. >> Omar: it was an emotional day today for a canadian delegation repatriating an unknown soldier from the newfoundland regimen. They are taking part in ceremonies in france before they bring home the soldier's remains to their final resting place at the war memorial in st. John's. Headerheather gillis reports. >> Reporter: this is the visitors' centre in bolin, france. This morning premier andrew furey, designated as his next of kin, visited the cas katecasket. He was there with his wife and 13-year-old son. >> It is incredibly emotional, to realize the sacrifice that this young man made and the impact more globally of beaumont hamel and the first world war on our nation at the time. And to just think about, as a father, standing there with my son, the emotions that many parents would have felt in newfoundland and labrador at the time, left wondering, left waiting for word, left with the ultimate conclusion that there son wasn't coming home. >> Reporter: frank sullivan with the royal canadian legion was instrumental to having the unknown soldier repatriated. >> To actually go in and tap the coffin and say, you're going home, son, I can't talk. It is too emotional. >> We both broke down and had a good hug and a cry. And the weight and the gravity of the situation is truly overwhelming. >> Reporter: the the unknown sold was exhumed on may 13th. His headstone, similar to this, will be placed at the provincial museum. This will mark the place of where he once laid for almost a century. [taps playing] >> Reporter: in a french village of 700, school children laid flowers marking a former german stronghold, the site of numerous battles. The delegation from newfoundland-labrador laid wreaths. >> Thank you very much, very much. It is very important for the children, and the tons of history of their village. >> Reporter: anticipation is now building for the main event, but first, tomorrow, dignitaries are going to have a reception here before the unknown soldier finally ends up back in newfoundland hands in more than 100 years, on saturday. >> Omar: we have an exclusive update now on a human rights complaint against bell media. Former personality patricia jagger filed the complaint against the company back in 2022 for discrimination. Now a new report shows bell could lose its bid to have her case thrown out. Olivia boden has the details. >> I just felt, wow, this
