Never frozen. Always juicy. ( ) Even right after the accident I knew that I was determined- to complete my fellowship and work in my field. That took a lot of adjusting but almost a year and a half later- I started seeing patients. There was a lot that was involved in representing me but- Janus, my lawyer with MacGillivray Law, took care of everything. He knew that my goal was just to get better and return to doing what I know how to do. >> Here we go. >> Announcer:Canada's Ultimate Challenge, watch free onCBC Gem. Saturday onCBCandCBC Gem. Michael j. Fox:When Hugo lost his brother in a tragic accident, he could have easily given up on his dreams. But he chose the hard road instead. [intense] - -[crowd cheers] >> Ron: round three under way, welcome back to our continuing coverage of the stanley cup playoffs on sportsnet presented by rogers. Florida gets the first goal, they are 14-2 the past two postseasons when scoring the first goal, 7-1 on the road in those scenarios. Jennifer botterill, luke gazdic and kevin bieksa if his voice makes it to explain the goal. >> Kevin: the goal happens from gustav forsling. An offensive defenseman is somebody who has over 40 points a season, a point every other game. Think about a makar, a montour, a hughes. Everybody operates by the guidelines that if you can beat a man up the ice and make it an odd man rush, you join, regardless if you're josh manson or you're miro heiskanen or you're forsling, who's definitely a two-way defensemen, but I would never say he's an offensive "d." sometimes he won't go, but when you have three forwards caught as a d-man, you have to join. Yeah, it turns in to a three on three, but that play is from the drive guy, forsling, not only does he kick it out, but he goes right to the net and causes a little disruption and then tkachuk with the nice curl and drag, shooting it through the screen. That's forsling and any other defensemen, you can beat a forward up ice, take off, luke. >> Luke: what did you consider yourself as? >> Kevin: three 40-point seasons, so I was basically a fighter. >> Ron: leading >> Jennifer: before forsling joins the rush, ekblad makes a great play before they regain possession and that's a big part of the panthers' approach to the team is to be physical. That's why this team is so hard to play against. You see if from tkachuk earlier. There is lundell, here's lomberg on the forecheck. You don't always have to level the player, but for them in every situation, they are taught to finish those checks to create their turnovers. Then if you're the rangers, you know it's coming, right? It's always on the back of your head. We saw a number of situations where they regained control of the puck, just a big part of their play. We saw a lot of pace from them, establishing their physical presence in the first. >> Luke: I'm going to build off that, jen, because a lot of this is starting off their forecheck. They are hounding pucks on the forecheck. With the physicality, it's every guy. It's from the top of the lineup to the bottom. It's non-negotiable is what coaches used to say. When they get in there, it's finishing check, it's winning foot races and winning loose battles, all these things underneath basically the dots and in. This is ryan lomberg. The lomberganie we used to call him, showing a lot of heart and effort. Barkov has been anticipating this all period. I was going to say all game, but throughout the period. It's battles, it's a "d" down the wall, aggressive "d" not letting anything exit this zone. These guys are anticipating every pass here. This is unbelievable, filling lanes and getting chances out of this every time. Seemingly creating offense every time they get in there, tkachuk forcing that. They force turnovers and create

a penalty call out of that. The new york "d" are what we call hearing foot stomps and they don't have any answer for this. >> Kevin: it's exhausting when you get hit. When you have to brace for contact and you have a guy hitting you, it's an exhausting way to play and that was the rangers the whole period, just getting hit, hit, hit, it's a tiring period. >> Jennifer: absolutely, and how do you respond? They need to make the most of their offensive zone time and trocheck is doing a very effective job. You talked about him before the game and said he's fearless. You watch the details, even though the pressure is tight on him, he finds a way to make plays. This one is nice off the entry, gaining possession of the puck. If you continue to watch him in the tight moments, he's winning the battles to the puck, I want to be an option. I'm ready for the pass. Along the half wall, even if people are on him, finding enough space to make a nice quick pass up to the top of the zone and then regains possession. This time, he outbattles two florida panthers players along the wall. Even though they're trying to be physical, get the puck. He is great on draws. He doesn't win this one cleanly but read the play along the wall. Turn, get open to space, lafreniere on his line had two great chances. This is the one set up by trocheck. For him, calm under pressure, still making plays despite the tight coverage. >> Ron: looks like florida found their game faster. You were saying rempe might be what they needed. >> Kevin: crowd's been quiet. Nice to get on the forecheck and bang some bodies and get the crowd. >> Shawn: barclay, that was a fast first period. How much is there a feeling out process before things kind of settle in a little bit? >> Yeah, I think a little bit. I think we just need to keep things a little more simple, you know, break out the puck a little bit better. Yeah, just trying to get, you know, in the rhythm of our own game. >> Shawn: couple of big hits throwing a physical period and feeling out process, how much is it about making life difficult as much as you can for the opponent? >> That's kind of in the dna of both teams. Both physical teams. Thought we did a good job and thought we could being a little more physical. But I'm sure that will come. >> Shawn: thanks for the time. >> Thank you. >> Ron: what did you say, kevin, it's exhausting when you're getting hit all the time and you can see it in that interview. We're down to a game a night, tomorrow night game one of dallas and edmonton 8edt, 6 mountain. Let's hear from leon draisaitl and the captains. >> I think the last time we were in this situation, it was really our first long run, right, so since then, we've been to the second round, we've been -- we are here now again, so you learn so much along the way and, you know, just these moments of adversity and these moments of where you have to find a way to battle through it and get out on top has just taught us a lot and yeah, we're ready for it. >> We certainly have a lot more experience going through the last couple of runs. Been in different situations, you know, holding leads, needing to come back, whatever the situation. I feel like we've been in it the last couple of years, and just obviously drawing on that experience and yeah, definitely more mature group. >> You know, everybody wants to win. Everybody plays this game to win a stanley cup. You know, we got more than a few guys here with over a thousand games that haven't done that yet, and, you know, obviously that's our motivation. Obviously they want to win, but so do we, and you know, that's what's going to be great about this series is we'll find out who wants it more. >> Ron: big board presented by bet365, whatever the sport, whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at bet365.
