>>> Let's check on the weather outlook for the final week of may with chris murphy at the weather network. >> Reporter: your national forecast, first the big picture nationwide. Fairweather on the east coast. Rain showers on the west coast. A nice bump up in temperatures in the prairies and then in ontario and québec, stormy weather. We have widespread showers and we have already had rounds of thunderstorms and we will get more of that and the trailing cold front of that low is also bringing stormy weather further east in the U.S. showers and thunderstorms. Another round coming in this afternoon. North of the gta it is certainly possible, especially cottage country, ottawa and the valley and western québec. And perhaps another round this evening targeting right along the st. Lawrence seaway. We will have to watch that and up towards central ontario where most of the thunderstorms and showers are diminishing overnight. Tomorrow there will still be scattered showers. Thunderstorms will be more isolated. It will be cooler tomorrow and then a dryer and cooler trend for wednesday and thursday. This is the risk of showers and thunderstorms. The biggest chance of severe weather is eastern ontario, western québec. We can't rule out central areas as well. Large hail and potentially heavy rain and damaging wind is the main culprit. Where we get multiple rounds of thunderstorms, significant rain especially eastern ontario and throughout québec. Tomorrow will orvis across maritime the could be a few rounds of storms as well even beginning earlier in the day rev fredericton and st. John and later the afternoon toward halifax. Heavy rain in newfoundland and rockhouse wind. A big pressure system will bring a few days of scattered rain showers across coastal B.C. the thunderstorm threat is in northeastern B.C. and northwestern alberta. >> Announcer: the weather update is brought to you by... >> Announcer: Breaking news that shapes your world with localCBC Radio Onelive to connect us closer to home.
