History was made in Major League Soccer Wednesday evening as 14-year-old Cavan Sullivan made his professional debut for the Philadelphia Union.

With the Union thumping New England Revolution, the youngster got his chance to come on as a substitute shortly after his older brother bagged a goal.

With that, Sullivan broke Freddy Adu’s 20-year-old record to become the youngest player to take the field in MLS.

The highly-touted teenager is on his way to Manchester City when he turns 18, recently signing the biggest homegrown deal in league history.
