Cathro makes return to management with Estoril

Ian Cathro has been appointed manager of Portuguese side Estoril, his first managerial role since his seven-month spell at Hearts seven years ago.

The 37-year-old was most recently employed by Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia as a first-team coach, before leaving last year.

Prior to that, he worked under current Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.

Cathro was also assistant to Nuno at Rio Ave between 2012 and 2014, giving him experience in Portugal's top flight.

The highly-rated coach had a tough time at Tynecastle, winning just seven of his 30 games in charge.
