Yahoo Sports The Case for a 4 Nations Face-Off Themed NHL 25 Cover

NHL 24's cover star was unveiled on August 14th last year so the NHL 25 reveal date could come any day now. With the cover star currently unknown we wanted to make the case for a four person, 4 Nations Face-Off cover.
The 4 Nations Face-Off is an eight day best-on-best tournament between NHL players from Canada, USA, Sweden, and Finland that will take place in Boston and Montreal. The tournament is replacing the 2025 All-Star Game.
Due to this being a tournament hosted by the NHL and NHLPA, players outside the NHL and IIHF players can not participate. The first six players for each team were named in June.
A hypothetical 4 Nations cover could have players like Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, Aleksander Barkov, and Elias Pettersson all on the same covers. Players could be wearing their NHL team's jerseys, the jersey of their country, or a half-and-half that could display both.
A 4 Nations Face-Off theme cover would give EA another way to get Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews on the cover again, or would be a good way for them to get recent Stanley Cup winners Matthew Tkachuk and Barkov more exposure.
Other star players who will be at the tournament that could compete for the NHL cover spot are Nathan MacKinnon, Sidney Crosby, Brad Marchand, Quinn Hughes, Jack Eichel, William Nylander, Victor Hedman, Sebastian Aho, and Mikko Rantanen.

Having a four player cover with players from all four teams would be a fantastic way for the NHL to promote the event and for EA Sports to get four star players on the cover.
A four person cover could be too crowded but EA has seen success with a similar concept in the past, Madden 22 featured both Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady, while the UFC games have featured multiple athletes on the same cover on several occasions.
NHL 23 was the sole cover with more than one person on it when it featured Trevor Zegras and Sarah Nurse.
