Carrollton Ranchview star, No. 12 senior receiver in nation commits to TCU football
TCU football added a star wide receiver from Carrollton Ranchview High School to its 2025 recruiting class.
Terry Shelton, 247Sports’ No. 12 senior wide receiver in the nation, is TCU’s 23rd highest-rated recruit to ever commit to the Horned Frogs. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver is a four-star with offers from Texas Tech, Kansas, and more.
“I’m home!!!,” Shelton wrote on X. “Go Frogs.”
Shelton improved his play as a senior, drawing more attention from college programs and improving his recruitment rankings. He was initially committed to Arizona but decommit on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
TCU plays Arizona on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Amon G. Carter Stadium, and Shelton said he’ll be in attendance.
Shelton recently finished his high school football career with Ranchview (5-6). The Wolves made the playoffs out of District 6-4A D1 and lost to Decatur 44-7 in the bi-district round.
Shelton joins NFL receivers Quentin Johnston and Jalen Reagor as well as Jordan Hudson, Cordale Russell, Omar Manning, and Gekyle Baker as one of TCU’s highest-ranked all-time receiver commits.
Ed Small, a four-star wide receiver recruit from Austin Anderson, is also committed to TCU’s 2025 class. The Frogs now have 247Sports’ No. 20 recruiting class nationwide, with six four-stars and 19 three-stars.
Shelton, the No. 16 overall prospect in Texas, has a 4.47-second 40-yard dash and a 41-inch vertical. He is the Frogs’ highest rated recruit in the 2025 class; Chad Woodfork of Humble Summer Creek, a four-star defensive end, is second highest.

Gave my all and built a legacy in this jersey! Me and my team did something that hasn’t been done at Ranchview in half a decade and I’m proud of us for that. It hurts I won’t wear this jersey again, but I can truly say I gave Ranchview football my all…@RHSWolfpackFB pic.twitter.com/TugWBxGxzg
