How to Watch - NHL Network, FanDuel Sports Network South, MSG, Sportsnet, TVAS
The Carolina Hurricanes will look to pick up a divisional win at MSG this afternoon as they take on the New York Rangers (16-15-1).
Carolina is coming off of a 3-1 loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday, a game in which they generated chances, but they just didn't find any finish.
Again, the process isn't as bad as it had been last month, but the Hurricanes still really need consistent production from their top players and they're just not getting that.
The team needs their top-six to pick up the slack and not just on the power play.
The Rangers are coming off of a 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars, a game in which their league leading penalty kill had to carry them to the finish line.
Things have not gone well for New York who have won just two games in their last five outings.
They've now traded their captain Jacob Trouba and most recently the one-time second overall pick Kaapo Kakko and still things don't look like it's getting better.
Much like Carolina, their top guys have hit a wall and their lack of production is dragging the whole team down.
But the talent is there and any game they could crack out some quick goals, no doubt.
