Carolina Hurricanes @ New York Islanders: Lineups, Game Preview and How to Watch
What - Game 50 (30-16-3)
When - 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25
Where - UBS Arena; Elmont, NY
How to Watch - FanDuel Sports Network South, MSGSN
The Carolina Hurricanes will take on the New York Islanders (19-20-7) tonight with what will be a very new looking lineup.
The Canes made a huge splash last night, landing both Mikko Rantanen and Taylor Hall for Martin Necas and Jack Drury in a three-team trade.
It was a bold move by first year GM Eric Tulsky, but it's one that addresses a lot of the Hurricanes' concerns moving forward.
Carolina is entering the contest on a four-game winning streak and have looked much more like the team we are familiar with.
The Islanders have found a bit of a jump as of late too, having won three in a row heading into tonight's game.
They're still at the bottom of the division, but they've gotten some steady goaltending and timely goals even despite historically bad special teams play.
The Isles may even have a familiar face in the lineup as former Canes defenseman Tony DeAngelo was signed by New York just yesterday.
Streaks
Jesperi Kotkaniemi (4g) has goals in three-straight games.
Eric Robinson (1g, 2a) has points in three-straight games.
Milestone Watch
Brent Burns is one point shy of 900 career points.
Pyotr Kochetkov will play in his 100th career game tonight should he start.
Jack Roslovic is three goals shy of 100 career goals.
Frederik Andersen earned his 300th career win on Thursday, becoming the second fastest player to reach that milestone.
Game Notes
Carolina is 1-1-0 against New York this season, having last won 4-0 at Lenovo Center on Dec. 17.
Tony DeAngelo, the former Hurricanes defenseman, signed a one-year deal for the remainder of the season with thee Islanders just yesterday.
The Hurricanes could potentially see two debuts tonight as both Mikko Rantanen and Taylor Hall where acquired in a trade involving Martin Necas and Jack Drury last night.
