Carolina Hurricanes @ Utah Hockey Club: Lineups, Game Preview and How to Watch
What - Game 15 (11-3-0)
When - 9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12
Where - Delta Center; Salt Lake City, UT
How to Watch - FanDuel Sports Network South, Utah16
The Carolina Hurricanes will face the Utah Hockey Club (6-6-3) for the "first time in franchise history."
Despite the team being in nearly all regards the Arizona Coyotes, the league has decided to reclassify Utah as a new franchise leaving all the Coyotes' history in Arizona.
So this is a first for the Canes.
Carolina is coming into the contest off of a 5-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday.
The Canes had a strong balanced attack offensively and netminder Pyotr Kochetkov continued to be strong in goal.
The win now gives Carolina wins in nine of their last 10 games.
The only worry continues to be with Seth Jarvis who missed Monday's game with an UBI. The Hurricanes practice today at 1:30 p.m. EST so we may get more clarity on his status then.
Utah on the other hand is coming off of a 4-0 shutout loss to the Nashville Predators on Saturday and they've also been shutout in two of their last three and have been shutout four times already this season.
After a hot start to the year, the Hockey Club has fallen on a bit of tough times with things not really clicking on either side of the puck.
Streaks
Martin Necas (7g, 14a) is on a 10-game point/assist streak, a career high.
Jordan Martinook (5g, 1a) is on a four-game goal streak, tying his career high from last season.
Jordan Staal (1g, 3a) is on a three-game point streak.
Pyotr Kochetkov has won seven consecutive starts, a career high.
Milestone Watch
Eric Robinson registered his 100th career point on Monday against Vegas.
Sebastian Aho is one game-winning goal shy of breaking Ron Francis' franchise record (57).
Sean Walker is three points shy of 100 career points.
Game Notes
This is Carolina's first game ever against the Utah Hockey Club because they are technically a new franchise.
However, if the Canes had hypothetically played a team exactly like Utah, they would be 47-32-8-1 all-time against them, including going 2-0-0 last season.
In that hypothetical, Martin Necas (4g, 10pts in 8 games), Seth Jarvis (1g, 6pts in 6 games) and Jack Drury (3pts in 3 games) are point-per-game players against them.
Utah's Ian Cole played 75 games for Carolina in the 2021-22 season.
